Visiting Guide

We are looking for a energetic, entrepreneurial individual who is passionate about guiding children on their journey of lifelong learning. Our Visiting Guide will spend their first year learning how to work with The Village School’s learning design, processes and systems. This is an opportunity to grow quickly and steadily into a full time Guide or Lead Studio Guide or take on another leadership role on campus. The Visiting Guide will work with other Village School Guides to:

• Create an engaging and collaborative learning environment

• Empower learners to direct their own learning, strive for excellence, and reflect

• Curate excellent resources and challenges

• Support learners in foundational skill-building (math, reading, writing)

• Support learners during project-based learning explorations

• Support learners during outdoor learning/play

Qualifications:

• A deep curiosity about life and love of learning

• Balance of tough-mindedness and warm-heartedness

• Good observational and communication skills

• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure

• Passionate about learner-driven, whole child education

• Excellent planning and organizational skills

• Customer service and user-centered orientation with the ability to give and receive feedback, meet needs, and get a positive response

• Previous experience working with children in an educational or coaching setting

The starting annual salary for a Visiting Guide is $50,000. Promotion from Visiting Guide to full-time Guide within the 2-3 months of employment is contingent upon fit, performance, and the school’s current resource needs.
